A new little angel!
Baby , The Cranks, Posted on: Feb, 06
I have been on hiatus for a little while with the arrival of our new little angel!
Cameron was born on 1.23.2012, 9lbs 10.1 oz’s and 21 inches long. She was due on 1.11.2012 so she was almost two weeks post due date. Although she had no trouble making her entrance into the world when she decided she was ready She Was Ready! After all the waiting and anticipation of going two weeks past your due date she barely waited for us to make it to the hospital. We checked in at 1:37 am and she was born at 2:02 am! we are so excited to welcome her into our little family!

iPhoneography
Uncategorized, Posted on: Jan, 07
iPhoneogrophy yep it is a word. It is the art of the iphone photography! I have been having so much fun exploring this new world of photography these past few days.
I love photography because it is such an amazing thing to me to be able to capture a smile, a feeling, a moment in time. We are never guaranteed another day and it is an opportunity for me to slow down and savor the moment that we are presently in. I get to think about what I am seeing in that moment in time and try and capture it. There have been so many times I am forever grateful to have an image. Life just goes so fast. My point I guess is that it doesn’t have to be professional images even iphone images can capture that special moment!
So let me share with you the fun I have been having exploring the iphoneogrophy world.
It started with the exploration of a book my hubby got me for Christmas: The Art of iPhoneography by Stephanie Roberts
Then to a web site www.iphoneography.com
It is a whole new world there is so much out there!
So for a while I have been using Instagram and I love it.
It allows you to take photos and add filters or borders to them. You can also use photos from your camera library. The cool part about Instagram that sets itself apart form the rest is that it is also part social network. You can upload your photos to Facebook and Twitter as well as your own Instagtam feed. Then you can follow, like and comment on other peoples Instagram feeds. The newest thing I am loving right now from Instagram is their magnets. Yep Magnets. You can pick out the photos you like from your feed and they will turn them into tiny magnets for you! LOVE Them!
Here are a few of my Instagrams
Another Favorite of my right now is Lo-Mob
Lo-Mob is another one where you can take pictures in the app or choose from you iphone library of photos. It has some really great filters to apply to your photos. I love the instant frames and the textured old filters. Then you can save to your iphone library, upload to another app to add another filter or post on your favorite networking site. I like to then upload to Instagram and maybe and another filter and then upload. So any options!
Here are a few of my Lo-Mob shots
I have also been having a lot of fun with PicFrame
You pick a frame for multiple photos 3,4, or 5 photos in all different setups. Then you just tap the opening and it pulls up your iphone library and you chooose a photo for that opening. It is just FAB! You then can save or open in a different app to add a filter or texture to it!!!
Here are some of my PicFrame photos
I have a few more apps I have downloaded and am still playing with and assessing. I will let you know…

Christmas Cards… what to do what to do?
Uncategorized, Posted on: Jan, 02
As I pack up Christmas each year I always sit with the Christmas Cards we received and wonder what to do with them. They are so beautiful and I just can not bring myself to throw them away. Maybe it is the Photographer in me.
Last year I had an idea for a new way of displaying them. It was great Payton loved that she could look at them anytime she wanted and she could help me hang them up as they came in the mail. We ended up leaving the display up most of the year!
This year as we unpacked Christmas Payton had so much fun looking thru all the Christmas Cards from years past. I found a huge stack from previous years I just could not throw away.
So…
I made them into a flip book that she could look at. This years are still on display but all of the years past cards are in our new flip book that we will add to every year!
I went to staples and purchased a few 2″ rings and a 39 cent clear plastic folder. I cut the top and bottom of the flip book out of the plastic folder just to protect the top and bottom cards. I punched (Payton punched a lot) holes with a single hole punch at the top or side of each card and we loaded them onto the rings.
Everyone loved to look back thru the years of Christmas Card pictures!
